Chevrolet Cobalt was built from 2005 through 2010 at the Lordstown plant in Ohio on the GM Delta platform that replaced Cavalier. The lineup ran the 2.2-liter LE5 Ecotec, the 2.4-liter LE5 Ecotec in the Sport and the 2.0-liter LSJ supercharged and LNF turbo in the SS, paired with a four-speed automatic and a five-speed manual. Lots from this generation reach Copart and IAAI in very large numbers because of fleet sales and student-driver use, with worn timing chains, ignition switch issues from the 2014 recall and front-end damage as the leading reasons. The SS turbo lots remain interesting for export builders, since the LNF block is shared with HHR SS and Pontiac Solstice.
Average auction prices for 2005 CHEVROLET COBALT across 1671 sold lots in our database: median $350, typical range $225 to $575.
